Feassibility Study of Old Bishopric Parking, Tenerife, Canary Island
Analysis of the economic and financial viability of a new public parking in the historic center of La Laguna.

The project involved extensive field work, adjusting a choice model depending on the tariff of the competing parkings, the time from the parking to the place of origin / destination of the user and the physical characteristics of the car parks.

Furthermore, since the concession required the construction of some additional work for the Diocese, a business model that included income and costs of the concession of both parking and related buildings was built. Among other aspects analyzed, Diadro examined the profitability under different scenarios of demand growth, parking fees, capital costs, operating costs, project financing schemes, etc…

The data collection campaign included rotation surveys in car parks that are direct competitors of the project, an inventory of parking places and static traffic counts on several streets of the historic center. A stated preference survey was carried out and the results formed the basis in order to adjust logit type mode choice models (choosing between car parks, and choosing between indor private parking and free road parking).
