Demand Study North ALO
Traffic and revenue demand study of the Public-Private Partnership project Avenida Longitudinal Occidente (North section) in the city of Bogota, Colombia.

The objective was to find out the traffic volumes of vehicles, characteristics of freight vehicles, structure of rails necessary and study of several cases with diverse proposals of design road links. Everything with the objective of estimating the volume of traffic that will circulate in order to evaluate the possible feasibility of the project (private initiative).

A fieldwork, specifically designed for this project, was carried out in order to feed the network model, consisting of:

  • various types (daily and weekly) of classified vehicle counts;
  • origin-destination surveys and
  • stated preference surveys,

An analysis of the existing information and historic traffic data and city studies was also analyzed.
